The practical answer
For a Montréal backyard, define authorized areas, material to remove and the route out. Sorting and hauling should be agreed before work.
Turn a crowded yard into a clear inquiry
A yard behind a building may contain furniture, several residents’ accessories and plant debris. Start by separating personal belongings from material you want assessed for removal. An overview shows the arrangement; detail photos show accumulations.
Explain whether the goal is clearing a passage, regaining use of a patio or preparing a lawn section. Those are different tasks. Do not present cleanup as permission to empty the entire yard when other residents keep belongings there.
The route out matters as much as the volume
Material accessible from the street and piles reached through a narrow passage require different planning. Photograph gates, steps and turns along the route. Explain whether a lane is involved and which access permissions are confirmed.
Identify possible temporary grouping areas without blocking exits or using space outside your authority. Off-site hauling remains an arrangement to agree. Municipal collection or parking availability is not assumed simply because the property is in Montréal.
A scope suited to shared outdoor spaces
For a condominium or rental building, identify who confirms the areas and items to preserve. A written list prevents a resident’s accessories from being treated as waste. Plants, decorations and garden areas should be expressly protected if they are to remain.
Unknown material, sharp objects, construction debris and heavy items require separate descriptions. They are not advertised as included. Assessment may limit certain zones. Tree work, pesticides and landscape repairs are not treated as backyard cleanup.
Example: tidying a common backyard
A list can identify leaves to group, a route to clear and residents’ furniture. Furniture to preserve stays clearly separated from material requiring assessment. The authorized person confirms the list and route out before the scope is agreed.
If the route crosses space controlled by another party, describe the permission needed. The inquiry does not assume hauling or removal of everything. It provides a basis for discussing cleanup while keeping specialized needs outside the advertised work.
Plan upkeep after the reset
If the yard contains lawn, request any mowing after cleanup separately. If leaves are the main issue, also read spring and fall cleanup. Initial tidying should be distinguished from recurring maintenance.
Frequently asked questions
Is hauling included in Montréal?
It must be requested and confirmed in the proposal according to material, volume and access; it is not automatic.
Can I request cleanup and mowing together?
You can describe both needs. Each needs assessment and explicit inclusion in the scope.
